Moms are all different in their ways of teaching, nurturing, cooking, etc. But they all deserve to feel special. While some moms like the traditional breakfast in bed, flowers, and chocolate, I know my mom's not the conventional sort of woman who likes those things. For the difficult ones (like my mom, haha), I'd best advise you to pinpoint what sort of things she loves and enjoys most. And of course, that's difficult, too, since she'll probably say "YOU!"

If the budget is tight, you can always spend quality time with her by bonding over a museum trip and having a picnic lunch.

She's always working on a new project. Maybe a quilt, a scrapbook, or a pie. Maybe your mom is the kind that is into making furniture or remodeling your entire house! She'll always need new supplies for her never-ending projects and certainly will appreciate a handmade gift from you.
LUXURY:
She's the woman who would rather let her feet hurt than to wear ugly shoes. She never gets caught without jewelry on and everyone compliments her on her clothing. No doubt that this mom would adore an luxurious piece of jewelry or accessory! Persuade your dad, brothers, or sisters to chip in for a big gift and maybe throw in a bouquet of roses and a reservation to her favorite fancy restaurant.
BEAUTY:
You probably grew up watching your mom apply her makeup at her vanity every day. A woman like her will always need high quality and fresh beauty supplies to make her feel her best. You know she's beautiful no matter what, but splurging on moisturizers and designer makeup will make her feel pampered and pretty. A plush robe for her to get ready in will complete the ensemble.
GEEKERY:
She's the kind of girl who spends more time playing the on games for her phone rather than using it to call you. Nonetheless, show her that you love her-as much as her love for technology-by giving her her a token from her most favorite "fandom." Perhaps your mom loves Jane Austen movies (my aunt does), while she might already have the complete box DVD set, you can always find something relating to her favorite TV show via etsy.com.
PEACE:
Being a mom to you, she's probably craving some zen right now (kidding). Give her a pretty porcelain tea set, scented candles, and a good read. And for the love of all things good, give her a break!!! Babysit your little siblings (and maybe her husband/your father), clean the house, do her chores, buy her dinner.
